ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 3. Kazakhstan's Baiterek National Managing Holding financed projects in the manufacturing industry for 468.4 billion tenge (about $975 million) from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
As acting Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Nurbolat Aydapkelov said at a government meeting, within the framework of state support for manufacturing industry projects, the group of companies of the holding raised about 621.5 billion tenge or about $1.3 billion (459 billion tenge or about $956 million - funds from the republican budget and 162.5 billion tenge or about $338 million - commercial funds), including through the Development Bank of Kazakhstan - 103.8 billion tenge (about $216 million), the Fund industrial development - 482.2 billion tenge (about $1 billion) and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation - 35 billion tenge (about $72.9 million).
"Based on the results of 8 months of 2023, the holding’s subsidiaries financed 34 projects (mechanical engineering, construction, chemical, food, agricultural and light industry) totaling 468.4 billion tenge or about $975 million," he said.
According to him, Baiterek National Managing Holding also approved 20 projects worth 476 billion tenge (about $991 million) for financing.
Among the key projects, Aydapkelov highlighted:
- production of cars in the city of Almaty (Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan LLP in the amount of 91 billion tenge or about $189 million),
- production of sodium cyanide (Talas Investment Company LLP in the amount of 17 billion tenge or about $35.4 million),
- processing of dairy products (Green works LLP in the amount of 2.5 billion tenge or about $5.2 million),
- hot galvanizing plant in the city of Saran (Kazakhstan Hot Galvanizing Plant LLP in the amount of 4.9 billion tenge or about $10.2 million).
The index of industrial production in Kazakhstan from January through July 2023 amounted to 103.6 percent. During this period, industrial goods were produced for a total of 26.3 trillion tenge (about $55.5 billion).
In the structure of production, 46.6 percent (12.2 trillion tenge or about $25.7 billion) came from the mining industry, and 46.7 percent (12.3 trillion tenge or about $25.9 billion) from the manufacturing industry.
