ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 4. Kazakhstan plans to open small industrial zones, Trend reports.

As the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev said at a government meeting, the Ministry is working to launch the project “Small Industrial Zones”.

"It provides for the provision of preferential loans for the construction of finished industrial premises. Such buildings will be built in all regions of the country; they will house exclusively small and medium-sized businesses in the manufacturing industry. I believe that regional akimats (executive authorities) need to speed up the process of launching the "Small Industrial Zones" project," he said.

For the implementation of investment projects, 14 special economic and 35 industrial zones operate in Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the SEZ, 325 projects worth 2.8 trillion tenge (about $5.87 billion) were implemented, with the creation of 24,000 permanent jobs.
