ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 29. A total of 24.7 million tons of feed have been prepared in regions of Kazakhstan, which is 98.9 percent of the needs in the livestock sector for the coming winter, Trend reports.

This was stated during a government meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.

Based on the accomplishments, 1.5 million tons of hay, 1.9 million tons of silage, 4.5 million tons of straw, and 4.9 million tons of concentrated feed are included in this figure.

A fodder fund of 235,000 tons has been established through Food Corporation JSC for the selling of grain to farmers at lower costs. A total of 58,000 tons of preferred diesel fuel have been set aside for feed procurement.

Simultaneously, efforts are being made to extend and restructure debts on agricultural producer loans.

Many additional initiatives, such as lower transportation tariffs, have also been implemented to assist feed manufacturers.

Thus, the steps performed enabled the formation of the necessary feed reserves for the winter.
