ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 30. The KamaTyresKZ tire production plant in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan will be put into operation by the end of 2023, Trend reports.
This was stated during the visit of the Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Omarbekov to the territory of the plant.
The plant is being built by Russian 'Tatneft' company, which owns KamaTyres. The construction of the plant started in 2021.
The estimates say the plant will produce 3.5 million tires per year for the local market, while it is also planned to increase production to 9 million tires per year.
Approximately 40 percent of production will be exported.
To implement this project, some $482.4 million worth of investments have been attracted.
After completion of construction and commissioning, the plant will provide 1,116 permanent jobs.
The KamaTyresKZ plant will become the first one in Kazakhstan to manufacture car tires. Previously, similar products were fully imported.
As Tatneft stated previously, it is also planned to produce a new line of B+ quality tires in Kazakhstan.
