ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 28. Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery has paid more than 154.7 billion tenge (about $309 million) in taxes from the beginning of the year, Trend reports.

According to the Atyrau Oil Refinery, 131.9 billion (about $290.5 million) of these taxes were paid to the budget of Atyrau city, which is 1.5 times more than last year’s figure.

The increase in tax payments is primarily associated with achieving the design capacity of the plant’s technological units - catalytic cracking and delayed coking, increasing the depth of oil refining.

For the first time since its launch, the catalytic cracking unit achieved a design capacity of 300 tons/hour, with a design depth of oil refining of 86 percent.

In addition, production of a high value-added product, paraxylene, which is a raw material for the petrochemical industry, was resumed in December 2023.
