ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 13. The state budget of Kazakhstan received revenues of about 1 trillion tenge (about $2.2 billion) in January 2024, said Finance Minister of Kazakhstan Madi Takiyev, Trend reports.
He made the remark during the first meeting of the renewed government.
According to the minister, the state budget revenue plan was fulfilled by 111.5 percent.
At the same time, the Republican budget received 521 billion tenge (about $1.16 billion) in revenues.
Local budget revenues were fulfilled by 191.3 percent and amounted to 526 billion tenge (about $1.17 billion). The plan was exceeded by 251 billion tenge (about $560 million), of which, in taxes, by 223 billion tenge (about $497 million).
In addition, expenditures of the state budget were fulfilled by 96.9 percent, republican budgets by 97.8 percent, and local budgets by 94.5 percent.
The minister noted that in January 2024, more than 75,000 audit procedures were carried out. The audit covered about 1.8 trillion tenge (about $4 billion). Based on the results of inspections, financial irregularities amounting to about 4.8 billion tenge (about $10.7 million) were established.
Furthermore, on November 4, 2023, former Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubayev presented the draft law "On the republican budget for 2024–2026" at a plenary meeting of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Zhamaubayev noted that revenues for 2024 are projected at 20.4 trillion tenge (about $44.2 billion).
According to him, the budget deficit is estimated at 2.6 percent of GDP. Budget expenditures for next year are planned to increase by 1.5 trillion tenge (about $3.25 billion) in relation to 2023 and will amount to about 24 trillion tenge (about $52 billion).
