ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 16. Around 179,400 vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan in 2023, a 44.5 percent increase over the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the number of buses climbed by 24.5 percent, trucks increased by 38 percent, and passenger cars increased by 45.2 percent.
As of January 1, 2024, Kazakhstan has 5.32 million registered vehicles, with 88 percent being passenger cars, 9.9 percent being trucks, and 2.1 percent being buses.
In total, 1.19 million vehicles were registered from January through December 2023; compared to the same period, the number of registrations increased 1.6 times.
By year of manufacture, the Kazakhstan vehicle fleet as of January 1, 2024, is as follows:
over 20 years – 2.459 million cars
from 10 to 20 years – 1.265 million cars
from 7 to 10 years – 680,700 cars
from 3 to 7 years – 590,800 cars
less than 3 years – 319,700 cars.
