Kazakhstan's oil production, exports soar to new heights in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 5. Kazakhstan has produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, said the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almassadam Satkaliyev during a meeting of the board, Trend reports.

"Kazakhstan has produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, which is 6.9 percent higher than in 2022," the minister said.

As he noted, oil exports also increased and amounted to 70.5 million tons, which is 9.6 percent more than the previous year.

"The project to eliminate bottlenecks on the Kazakhstan section of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has been completed. This increased throughput to 72.5 million tons per year. Transportation of Kazakh oil along a new route through the Transneft PJSC system via the Druzhba oil pipeline in the direction of the Schwedt refinery in Germany in the amount of 1 million tons was ensured," he said.

According to Satkaliyev, Kazakh oil was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan in the amount of 1 million tons, which made it possible to increase oil exports through the port of Aktau in the direction of Makhachkala and Baku to 3.4 million tons or by 52 percent compared to 2022.

Earlier, Satkaliev said that the country plans to increase oil production in 2024 to 90.3 million tons.
