Thai companies keen to open production facilities in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. Large Thai companies are interested in opening their production facilities and distribution centers in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This topic was discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu and the heads of Thai companies.

Thus, cooperation in the food industry was discussed with the head of the largest flour food manufacturer in Thailand, Thai President Foods, Pojjana Paniangvait. The company considers Kazakhstan a regional logistics hub for the supply of its products, both to the Kazakh market and to the countries of Central Asia and the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, the Thai side is ready in the future to explore the possibility of opening its production on the territory of Kazakhstan.

In addition, at negotiations with the Senior Vice President of Sea Value, Chanintr Chalisarapong, the Thai company’s intention to invest in the Kazakh market, in particular in the creation of a trade and distribution center for the supply of seafood to Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries, was expressed.

The minister also held a meeting with Really Cool Airlines President Patee Sarasin. The parties discussed issues of diversifying transport links, in particular the opening of direct flights not only between the capitals but also between the between the major cities of the two countries.

On April 23, Kazakhstan and Thailand signed an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of national passports.

According to the agreement, citizens of both countries can stay without a visa for up to 30 calendar days from the date of entry into each other’s territory.

The agreement will become fully valid after the parties finalize the domestic procedures.
