ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 15. The volume of wholesale trade in Kazakhstan amounted to 18.8 trillion tenge (about $39.6 billion) from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

According to data from the country's National Bureau of Statistics, this figure increased by 3.3 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Non-food products and industrial products for industrial and technical purposes prevailed in wholesale trade (79.6 percent).

As of July 1, 2024, the volume of inventory of trading enterprises in wholesale trade amounted to 2.08 trillion tenge (about $4.4 billion), in trading days - 35 days (as of July 1, 2023, the volume of inventory in retail trade amounted to 1.8 trillion tenge (about $3.8 billion), in trading days - 42 days).

The largest share in the total volume of wholesale trade in the country from January through June 2024 falls on Almaty city (37.6 percent), Atyrau region (15.8 percent), Astana city (15.7 percent), and Karaganda region (6.1 percent).

In addition to this, the index of physical volume in the trading industry from January through June 2024 increased by 3.9 percent year-on-year.

A significant share of the total industry volume falls on wholesale trade, the share of which is 68 percent; retail trade is 31.6 percent.
