ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 19. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Kazakhstan will develop a three-year investment plan, the statement of the press service of Kazakhstan's government said, Trend reports.
At a meeting between Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov and an AIIB delegation headed by Vice President Konstantin Limitovskiy, a Declaration of Intent to jointly develop a three-year investment plan was signed.
The plan will include sectors, areas, and projects for possible financing.
“We highly appreciate the prospects for further cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. I would like to emphasize that Kazakhstan is entering a new investment cycle and today presents several large projects that are interesting in terms of investment both to international financial institutions and private investors,” Baibazarov stated during the meeting.
In turn, Limitovskiy noted that AIIB is ready to contribute to the successful implementation of the National Development Plan of Kazakhstan as well as to support its commitment to decarbonization to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
To note, the AIIB is a multilateral development bank dedicated to financing sustainable, green, and technological infrastructure to enhance the social and economic well-being of people in Asia and beyond. To date, the AIIB has 109 members.
