Energy Minister of Kazakhstan pays visit to India

(gazeta.kz) - Bahtikoja Izmuhambetov, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK, and Sri Murli Deora, Minister of Oil and Natural Gas, discussed extension of co-operation in the economic and energy areas during the sixth meeting of the Kazakh-Indian Intergovernmental Commission for Commercial, Econmic, Scientific, Technical, Industrial, and Cultural Co-operation, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK told Kazakhstan Today.

Besides, at the meeting the sides discussed further co-operation in such promising areas, as trade, IT, science and technologies. The Kazakhstani side expressed a specific interest in the India's support of Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO and in the signing of a corresponding protocol, reports Trend.

During his stay in India Mr. Izmuhambetov held a meeting with Pranab Mukherdjee, Minister of Defence of India, during which further expansion of the military and technical co-operation between the two countries was discussed.

During his visit to India the Energy Minister of Kazakhstan also participated in a solemn opening ceremony of the first Kazakh-Indian Joint Venture "G.V.Display Solutions Pvt. Ltd" producing equipment for the Indian advertising industry.
