NATO Special Representative arrives in Bishkek

The NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Robert Simmons, arrives in Bishkek today, reported Kabar.

It is expected to discuss issues of further development of active and mutually beneficial cooperation, which exists between NATO and Kyrgyzstan within the framework of joint programmes. The parties would consider plans for the future and possible spheres of cooperation: problems of international and regional safety, issues of fighting with terrorism, border security and readiness for emergency situations.

Besides, R.Simmons plans to participate in opening of a depository library at the foreign ministry's diplomatic academy, meet with journalists and students of higher educational institutions.
