Kyrgyz first deputy PM meets with NATO Special Representative

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Omurbek Babanov met with NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons. O.Babanov warmly welcomed the interlocutor and expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and NATO. He congratulated R.Simmons on upcoming 60th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, reported KABAR.

O.Babanov told the Kyrgyz military and civil specialists' participation in NATO programs has strengthened human potential of Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope for continuation of active cooperation in this field. He also thanked for operative assistance after the last year's destructive earthquake in Alai region of Osh oblast, where was completely destroyed Nura village.

The Kyrgyz Deputy PM expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in expanding and continuing joint projects.

R.Simmons expressed satisfaction with the established level of cooperation between NATO and Kyrgyzstan within the framework of partnership for peace program.
