Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister meets with Kyrgyz President

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler during his working visit in Kyrgyzstan met with the Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev on Feb. 20

Guler arrived in Bishkek on the invitation of the Kyrgyz Minister of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources Ilyas Davidov.

The extensive exchange of opinions on rational use of energy supplies and natural resources was held during the meeting. Turkey has rich experience in energy production which Kyrgyzstan can use, the Kyrgyz President said.

The energy crisis occurred in the country can be removed using water energy, sun energy and wind energy. Ankara is always ready to aid Bishkek on this regard, Guler said.

Then the sides exchanged proposals on further development of economic relations.

Kyrgyz Prime-Minister Igor Chudinov, receiving Turkish delegation, stressed rich experience of Turkey in production and export of electric energy.

All energy opportunities of Kyrgyzstan are open for Turkish entrepreneurs and investors, he said.

The Turkish delegation included MPs and representatives of scientific circles of the country. During the visit they met with teaching staff and students of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas and delivered a lecture on energy sources and energy production in Turkey.

The ceremony of some agreements conclusion was held in the Kyrgyz Minister of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources on Feb. 20. Kyrgyz Minister Davidov and Turkish Minister Guler signed the documents on bilateral cooperation.

Presently, the delegation headed by Turkish Minister holds meetings in Ataturk Alatoo University under the Educational Center SEBAT.

Turkish Minister's visit to Kyrgyzstan will complete on Feb. 21.
