The height of the new air navigation tower at the airport "Manas" will be 38 meters, Kyrgyz Minister of Transport and Communications Erkin Isakov said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Building on Tuesday, KirTAG reported.

"We hope that the height of the air navigation tower at the international airport Manas will be 38 meters," Isakov said.

He said that the tender for construction of the air navigation equipment was won by "Rateon". Kyrgyzstan did not participate in the tender.

Isakov said that the height of the tower is being discussed with the U.S. Defense Ministry. "The U.S side has already submitted six variants of design," he said. "We hope the U.S. side will provide its own parameters, and the project will be implemented in 2013."

Minister stressed that $ 30 million was allocated to implement the project.

It should be noted that the U.S. government will help Kyrgyzstan to modernize the complex of air navigation equipment designed to monitor and control air traffic over the whole territory of the republic. The U.S. allocates $ 30 million for this purpose.

The new equipment will control all airspace.
