Ties between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey are developing dynamically, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev said at a meeting with a delegation from the Turkish Grand National Assembly headed by Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Volkan Bozkır, the presidential press service said on Monday.
"First of all, I would like to emphasize that the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey are at a high level," he said. "In this context, your visit is considered as the good will of the Turkish Parliament to support the strengthening of parliamentarism in Kyrgyzstan."
Bozkır informed Atambaev that the agreement has been approved by the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Turkish Parliament to cancel Kyrgyzstan's debt to the amount of $ 51 million and included in the agenda of the plenary session. This agreement will be ratified in the near future.
"We think that it is important to develop inter-parliamentary relations," he said. "We expect the colleagues from the Jogorku Kenesh (the Kyrgyz Parliament) to arrive in Turkey in the near future."
The Turkish president's official visit to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for August. A meeting of the Supreme Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries will be held in autumn.
