Young activists tell President about issues of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan
The opening of the Republican Youth Congress of Kyrgyzstan took place at Ala-Archa state residence. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the official part of the event, kabar.kg reports.
Young activists and enterprising businessmen told the participants of the platform about successfully implemented projects and shared the problems that had to be solved together with their teams.
Tilek Toktogaziev was the first to deliver a presentation on innovations in the agricultural sector.
He said that he, together with like-minded people, started the Zelenoe Hozyaistvo project (Russian: Зеленое хозяйство, Green Farm) in order to raise the level of the country's agriculture and promote export products of Kyrgyzstan through innovative methods.
He noted that from the very beginning the idea resulted in failure and great losses that their total volume amounted to 15 million soms.
“But we did not give up. We traveled to foreign countries with a developed agricultural sector and adopted their experience. Then we all brought what we saw to our villages,” Toktogaziev said.
Today, the Zelenoe Hozyaistvo project is being implemented by 200 idea-driven activists who help farmers master the greenhouse cultivation of vegetables and fruits, as well as intensive gardening.
“Despite the success achieved, there are still many problems in the agricultural sector. And one of the main ones is low-quality counterfeit fertilizers. They do not give the desired effect and may even harm the soil. Therefore, we propose to solve this problem through cooperation with proven European companies,” Toktogaziev added.
At the same time, he stressed that European businessmen are interested in the development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan and see great prospects in this business, but they are repelled by bureaucratic processes and difficulties in entering the local market with their own project.
In addition, Toktogaziev mentioned that it is time for Kyrgyz farmers to think about branding for their products in order to make them attractive for export to other countries.
The Republican Congress of Youth of Kyrgyzstan is held at Ala-Archa state residence. The event is timed to the Day of Youth. It is attended by representatives of active and enterprising groups from all regions of the country. The congress gathered over 140 delegates.
Discussions around the government program "Development of Youth Policy for 2017-2020" will last for two days and is divided into five blocks. At the opening of the congress, presentations of the best youth projects will be shown.
