BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. Uzbekistan increased exports of textile products to Kyrgyzstan from January through May 2022 compared to the corresponding period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the Committee, Uzbekistan's export of textile products to Kyrgyzstan in the first five months of 2022 totaled $182.8 million, which is an increase of 29.3 percent compared to the same period of last year ($141.3 million).
The total value of Uzbek exports to Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period amounted to $353.8 million, which is 29.7 percent more than in the similar period of 2021 ($272.7 million).
Thus, Kyrgyzstan entered the TOP-5 main importers of goods from Uzbekistan in the first five months of 2022.
The largest share of Uzbek textile exports from January through May 2022 falls on Russia ($454.6 million). Followed by Turkey - $278.6 million, and China ($193.7 million).
Meanwhile, the total trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the reporting period reached $433.4 million, which is an increase of 27.8 percent compared to the same period of the last year ($338.9 million).
