BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Kyrgyzstan significantly increased food production from January through July 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan in seven months of this year increased food production (including drinks and tobacco products) by 44.2 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (21 billion soms, or $255.4 million) - up to 30.3 billion soms ($368.7 million.
According to the committee, Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2022 produced the following main food products:
- dairy products in the amount of 8.7 billion soms ($106.8 million);
- bakery products and pastries totaling 5 billion soms ($61.6 million);
- flour and cereals, starches amounting to 3.1 billion soms ($38.1 million);
- meat products for the sum of 2.9 billion soms ($35.8 million);
- sugar in the amount of 2.3 billion soms ($28.6 million).
In addition, the production of beverages in Kyrgyzstan during this period amounted to 5.8 billion soms ($71.1 million), and tobacco products 8.3 million soms ($101,133).
