BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. Kyrgyzstan in the first half of this year imported 1.7 billion kWh of electricity from Turkmenistan for $45.6 million, Trend reports referring to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2022 also imported electricity from Kazakhstan in the amount of $7.3 million.
In general, the export of goods from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period amounted to $57.3 million, which is 4.3 times more than in the same period of 2021 ($13.3 million).
Kyrgyzstan during this period mainly imported from Turkmenistan tomatoes in the amount of $7.4 million and gasoline - $1.6 million.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan from January through June 2022 reached $59.8 million, which is 3.9 times higher than in the corresponding period of 2021 ($15.2 million).
