BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. International financial organizations and development agencies have implemented 511 sovereign financing operations with a total cost of $5 billion in Kyrgyzstan from 2008 through 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD).

A larger number of the financing operations fell on technical assistance (328), following by investment loans (95), grants (68), and stabilization loans.

The largest share of financing in terms of money came in the form of investment loans ($2.5 billion) and grants ($1.3 billion).

Most operations in Kyrgyzstan were carried out by the International Monetary Fund (133), followed by the World Bank (119), the USAID (107), and the Asian Development Bank (97). In total, 14 international financing organizations operated in Kyrgyzstan during the period.

According to the report, the largest amount of operations was implemented from 2013 through 2014.

The EFSD sovereign financing database covers 11 countries of the Eurasian region and includes information of operations financed by 16 international donors, among them are International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank(WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the New Development Bank (NDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD).

As well as agencies on development: French Development Agency (AFD), German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
