BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. The volume of loan portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector clients (excluding loans granted to banks and other financial and credit organizations) amounted to 204 billion soms ($2.3 billion), as of 31 December 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
The figure increased by 12.2 percent from the same period of 2021 (181.8 billion soms or $2 billion).
In the reporting period, loans to the clients of Kyrgyzstan's banking sector were allocated in the following fields:
In industrial sector – 13.7 billion soms ($156 million), decreasing by 1.1 percent from 2021;
In agricultural sector – 37.1 billion soms ($424 million), increasing by 11.7 percent from 2021;
In trade – 56.2 billion soms ($642 million), increasing by 9.6 percent from 2021;
In constriction – 12.9 billion soms ($147 million), decreasing by 4.5 percent from 2021;
In mortgage – 24.4 billion soms ($279 million), increasing by 22.2 percent from 2021;
Consumer loans – 33.1 billion soms ($378 billion), increasing by 48.9 percent from 2021;
The other loans – 26.8 billion soms ($365 million), decreasing by 3.9 percent from the preceding year.
The share of non-performing loans amounted to 12.8 percent or 26.1 billion soms ($298 million) in the loan portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking system last year, increasing from 11.1 percent or 20.2 billion soms ($231 million) in 2021.
