BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. Kyrgyzstan increased exports of corn to Uzbekistan by almost 10 times in 2022, compared to 2021, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

In the reporting period, the volume of Kyrgyz corn exports to Uzbekistan amounted to 49,467 tons, while the figure was 4,941 tons in 2021.

The value of the exports reached $4.8 million in 2022, which is an increase of 7.8 times, compared to 2021. The average export price of corn was $97 per ton.

Meanwhile, overall Kyrgyzstan’s corn exports amounted to 50,837 tons in 2022, increasing by almost 9 times, in comparison with 5,666 tons in 2021.

The value of the export reached $6.1 million in 2022, growing by 5.6 times compared to 2021 ($1 million).

Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan exported 1,369 tons of corn to Kazakhstan in 2022, which is an increase of more than 4 times over 327 tons in 2021.

The value of the exports made up $1.3 million in 2022. This is an increase of 4.2 times, compared to 2021 ($314,500).

The value of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $11.8 in 2022, increasing by 41 percent over the same period of 2021 ($8.3 billion).

Kyrgyzstan's exports reached $2.1 billion in 2022, facing a decrease of 21 percent compared to 2021 ($2.7 billion). The value of imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.6 billion last year, which is an increase of 72 percent compared to 2021 ($5.5 billion).
