BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Kyrgyzstan’s cargo transportation by road transport exceeded 5.9 million tons from January through February 2023, increasing by 24 percent year-on-year (4.7 million tons in the same period of 2022), Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
The main share of road cargo transportation (more than 80 percent) fell on individual entrepreneurs.
At the same time, cargo transportation via railways in the first two months of 2023 amounted to 1.34 million tons, which is 1 percent more than 1.32 million tons in the same period last year.
The transportation of goods by pipelines totaled 107,800 tons, increasing by 26.5 percent year-on-year (85,200 tons from January through February 2023).
Overall, the cargo transportation by all means of transport in Kyrgyzstan from January through February 2023 made up 7.4 million tons. The figure grew by 19 percent or 1.2 million tons over the corresponding period of 2022 (6.2 million tons).
The committee noted that the growth in the volume of cargo transportation was registered in all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
