BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The Board of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has decided to keep the refinancing rate unchanged at the level of 13 percent on April 24, 2023, Trend reports citing the bank.

According to the bank, the decision enters into force on April 25.

“Positive tendencies continue to prevail in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Real GDP growth from January through March 2023 amounted to 4.6 percent. The greatest contribution to economic growth continues to be made by the industry and service sectors. Domestic demand continued to grow steadily,” the bank said.

According to the financial institution, consumer prices in Kyrgyzstan have increased by 3.2 percent since the beginning of 2023. The annual inflation rate in April (as of April 14, 2023) was at the level of 10.5 percent.

In general, inflation in Kyrgyzstan is declining, but high uncertainty in the external environment continues to persist, the bank said.

Taking into account the current development of internal and external economic factors, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan decided to keep the refinancing rate unchanged.

The next scheduled meeting of the Board of the bank on the issue of the refinancing rate will take place on May 29, 2023.
