BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Cargo transportation by road in Kyrgyzstan increased in the period from January through April 2023, with the volume exceeding 11.4 million tons, Trend reports.
The volume of cargo transportation grew 1.6 percent compared to 10.2 million tons in the same period of 2022, Kyrgyzstan’s statistics said.
During the period under review, the volume of cargo turnover by road transport amounted to 401.2 million ton-kilometers (tkm), which is 5.2 percent more than 381.2 million tkm in the same period of 2022.
The volume of cargo transportation in Kyrgyzstan has increased by 12.4 percent year-on-year or by 1.6 million tons, reaching a total of 14.495 million tons from January to April 2023. In comparison, during the same period in 2022, the total cargo transported in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 12.896 million tons.
In 2022, the volume of cargo transportation in Kyrgyzstan by all means of transport reached 44.3 million tons, which is nearly a 30-percent growth compared to the 34.1 million tons transported in 2021.
