Kyrgyzstan's GDP increases

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 11. The volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Kyrgyzstan for the period from January through June 2023 reached approximately 453 billion soms ($5.1 billion), Nazira Kerimalieva, the First Vice Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan said, Trend reports.

According to her, the GDP showed an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022. The growth was mainly driven by the industrial sectors, with the manufacturing industries experiencing a growth rate of 7.6 percent.

Positive trends were also observed in the construction sector, which saw a growth rate of 11.2 percent.

Additionally, significant rise was recorded in the textile production sector (38.5 percent), the production of rubber, plastic goods, and construction materials (16.9 percent), the food and beverage industry, including tobacco products (10 percent), as well as in the extraction of minerals (6.1 percent).

Meanwhile, the GDP of Kyrgyzstan increased by 7 percent in 2022 and amounted to 919 billion soms ($10 billion).
