BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 11. The volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Kyrgyzstan reached around 563 billion soms ($6.4 billion) from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan's data revealed that the country’s GDP grew by 2.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
According to the committee, the balanced growth across both goods production and service sectors influenced this positive GDP trend.
Notably, the growth rate of goods-producing sector increased by 0.1 percent compared to the same months of the previous year, while the service sector registered a surge of 4.6 percent.
The service sector contributed the largest share of 53.4 percent to the Kyrgyzstan’s GDP. Still, this is a decrease of 0.1 percent point compared to the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the goods-producing sector accounted for 27.6 percent of the GDP, declining by 3.5 percent points year-on-year.
The industrial sector's share dropped by 2.1 percent points compared to the same period in the previous year. The agricultural sector saw a reduction of 1.2 percent points, while the construction sector registered a slight dip of 0.2 percent points.
Looking back to the previous year, Kyrgyzstan's GDP increased by 7 percent in 2022 and amounted to 919 billion soms ($10 billion).
