BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 17. Kyrgyzstan imported 200.338 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to data provided by the State Statistical Committee, this figure represents a 12.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (178.348 million cubic meters).
This amount of gas was imported to Kyrgyzstan from Russia for $30.050 million, an increase of 15 percent from the same months in 2022 ($26.752 million).
Another country from which Kyrgyzstan imported natural gas was Uzbekistan (23.806 million cubic meters of natural gas), which is a rise of 13.8 percent from the same period in 2022 (20.921 million cubic meters). The total value amounted to $3.571 million, representing a 13.8 percent increase compared to the first half of 2022 ($3.138 million).
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 224.144 million cubic meters of natural gas from January through June 2023, which is 12.5 percent more than the same period in 2022 (199.269 million cubic meters).
The total value reached $33.621 million, with 12.5 percent growth year-on-year ($29.890 million in January-June 2022).
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan imported a total of 415 million cubic meters of natural gas, valued at $62.2 million. Of this, 371 million cubic meters, worth $55 million, were imported from Russia, while Uzbekistan supplied 43 million cubic meters, valued at $6.5 million.
