BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 21. The Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan plans to construct a state data center in the country in the near future, Minister Talantbek Imanov said, Trend reports.

According to Imanov, the building of the state data center is a vital step for Kyrgyzstan. It will address the information requirements of government bodies, establish a high-quality new IT infrastructure, and provide the basis for future information system development and digitalization initiatives.

"Advancing cloud technologies will enable efficient resource management, data centers should adhere to international standards, particularly in terms of security," the minister said.

He highlighted that the amount of information requiring processing and analysis is constantly growing, the usage of automated information systems is rapidly increasing, and there's a necessity to centralize data processing within a state data center.

In early August of this year, the Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan announced a competition for designing the center. The ministry plans to allocate 84.8 million soms ($961,575) for this project. It is expected to be constructed on an area of 1,400 square meters and completed within six months following the contract signing.

The technical specifications outline that the state data center will be established to ensure efficient and secure storage, processing, and transmission of information necessary for the proper functioning of government information systems.
