BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 28. Passenger transportation by buses in Kyrgyzstan increased by 12 percent year-on-year during the period from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of the country, the total number of individuals transported by buses in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 263.672 million, which is a rise compared to the 235.516 million transported via this mode of transportation in the same period of 2022.
Approximately 17.782 million people in Kyrgyzstan used taxis, which is an increase of 7.6 percent compared to January-July 2022 (16.524 million people).
Meanwhile, the transportation of 20.007 million people in Kyrgyzstan was conducted by trolleybuses during these months, increasing 2.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2022 (19.465 million people).
Overall, a total of 302.371 million individuals were transported by all modes of transportation in Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2023, reflecting an increase of 30 million people or 11 percent year-on-year.
The majority of passenger transportation (over 93 percent) was carried out by road transport
