Kyrgyzstan’s cement production picks up

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 31. Kyrgyzstan produced a total of 1.701 million tons of cement from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the figure is 7 percent higher than in the corresponding period in 2022 (1.589 million tons).

In July 2023, Kyrgyzstan’s cement production almost did not change year-on-year, amounting to 321,800 tons (321,900 tons in July 2022).

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan exported 240,260 tons of cement to Uzbekistan from January through June 2023, which is 24 percent less than in the same months of 2022 (313,856 tons). The value of these exports amounted to $9.442 million, down by 26 percent compared to January–June 2022 ($12.764 million). Uzbekistan was the only buyer of cement from Kyrgyzstan during the period.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan imported 77,317 tons of cement from January through June 2023, which is 63.2 percent less than in the same months in 2022 (210,229 tons).
