Chuy, Osh regions lead agricultural imports in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 31. Import of agricultural products to Kyrgyzstan from August 18 to August 24 amounted to 18,229 tons, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, this is a 23 percent-increase compared to the previous week (from August 11 to August 17) when 14,816 tons were imported.

During the period under review, the largest amount of agricultural products was imported into the Chuy region, totaling 12,993 tons, followed by the Osh region with 2,883 tons.

In the Chuy region, the majority of imports consisted of grains (such as wheat, barley, and rice), amounting to 6,239 tons from countries like Russia and Pakistan. In the Osh region, the highest import was fruits, totaling 1,236 tons from Uzbekistan.

Additionally, 783 tons of agriculture were imported to the Jalal-Abad region, 778 tons to Batken, 513 tons to Naryn, and 279 tons to Talas.

During the same reporting period, a total of 6,308 tons of agricultural products were exported from various regions of Kyrgyzstan, both within the country and to other countries abroad.
