BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 31. A total of 3.879 million liters of beer were imported into Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2023, with an import value of $3.749 million, Trend reports.
According to the country's State Statistical Committee, the import volume witnessed a 45 percent year-on-year drop, and the value decreased by 38 percent.
The majority of the imported beer came from Russia (2.854 million liters valued at $2.533 million) and Kazakhstan (757,680 liters valued at $756,400).
Additionally, 86,572 liters of beer were supplied to Kyrgyzstan from Georgia, 85,353 liters from Mexico, 37,845 liters from Lithuania, 26,394 liters from Latvia, and 15,782 liters from Germany.
Minor beer supplies during the reporting period also came from the Czech Republic, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $6.7 billion in the first half of 2023, which is an increase of 31 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($5.1 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports reached $1.306 billion, which is a 34.6 percent increase over the $970.5 million recorded in the first half of 2022.
The country's imports amounted to $5.398 billion, up by 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
