Kyrgyzstan details ore and concentrate exports to China

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 26. A total of 6,234 tons of copper ore and concentrate totaling $10.927 million were exported from Kyrgyzstan to China from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan indicates that there were no such exports during the same period last year.

Additionally, precious metal ores and concentrates, amounting to 7,451 tons valued at $18.660 million, were also exported by Kyrgyzstan to China during the period. The figure decreased by 46 percent in volume and by 13 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

Kyrgyzstan also exported 108 tons of tungsten ores and concentrates to China for $692,600, which closely matches the figures from the same period in 2022 (107.8 tons for $668,800).

On the other hand, there were no tin ore and concentrate exports to China in the first seven months of this year, despite 28 tons being exported for $215,700 during the same period last year.

The total trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China amounted to $2.709 billion from January through July 2023, which is a 28.4 percent year-on-year increase. Kyrgyzstan's exports to China reached $39.130 million, increasing 4.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022. The country’s imports from China amounted to $2.670 billion, up by 28.8 percent year-on-year.

China was the primary trading partner of Kyrgyzstan, accounting for 33.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover. China's share in Kyrgyzstan's exports was 2.4 percent, while in imports, it stood at 40.8 percent.
