Kyrgyzstan's imports of oil products from Russia decline

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 2. A total of 252,452 tons of oil products were imported by Kyrgyzstan from Russia from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of the country indicates that this figure is 30.5 percent lower than 363.356 tons imported in the same period of 2022. The total value of these imports amounted to $186.133 million, declining 33 percent compared to the same period in 2022, when it was $277.376 million.

During the period under review, Russia was the primary supplier of oil products to Kyrgyzstan, followed by Kazakhstan (23,287 tons), Uzbekistan (2,890 tons), Belgium (1,486 tons), Türkiye (1,034 tons), and Belarus (1,020 tons).

In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 285,715 tons of oil products from January through July 2023, which is a decrease of 28.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022. The total value of these imports was $222.476 million, dropping 26.7 percent year-on-year.

Kyrgyzstan's imports from Russia during the reviewed period amounted to $1.119 billion, which was 20.8 percent lower than in the same period in 2022 ($1.412 billion). Imports from Russia accounted for 17.1 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover.
