BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 13. The trade turnover of fishery products between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2023 increased compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from the Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo) reveals that the trade volume of fishery products between Russia and Kyrgyzstan for the first six months of 2023 reached 5,200 tons, which is a 40-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022. The value of the trade reached approximately $15 million.
The export of Russian fishery products to Kyrgyzstan grew by 25 percent year-on-year, totaling 3,200 tons, while the import volume increased by 72 percent, reaching 2,100 tons.
Earlier on October 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during negotiations with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, announced that the trade turnover between the countries increased by nearly 18 percent year-on-year in the first six months of 2023.
During the negotiations, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia also agreed to increase the annual trade turnover between the two countries to $5 billion. In 2022, the trade turnover between the two countries almost reached $3.5 billion, increasing by 37 percent year-on-year.
