BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 23. Around 4,000 sellers from Kyrgyzstan have registered on the Russian Ozon marketplace from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
Nazarbek Malaev, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, shared these data during the E-Commerce EXPO 2023 forum.
Moreover, Malaev underscored that over 5,000 sellers from Kyrgyzstan have signed up on the Russian Wildberries marketplace during the first eight months of this year, with Kyrgyzstan's exports from this platform reaching 2.6 billion soms ($29.108 million).
Malaev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has created all the necessary conditions, including a regulatory framework and logistical infrastructure, to empower entrepreneurs to engage in real-time commerce.
In July 2023, the Ozon marketplace began the sale of Russian products in Kyrgyzstan. Alexey Sapon, the Director of Operations and Development for CIS countries, commented on the launch, stating, "We are launching the marketplace in Kyrgyzstan to allow the country's residents to enjoy all the advantages of online shopping on Ozon. To achieve this, we will further enhance the country's infrastructure, expand the locations for order pickups, and ensure the best possible service for our customers."
