Kyrgyzstan increases natural honey exports to variety of countries

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 24. Kyrgyzstan significantly boosted its natural honey exports to various countries from January through August 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that the primary honey exports from Kyrgyzstan were directed to China, with a total of 89.8 tons. This is an increase of 47 times compared to the mere 1.9 tons exported in the same period in 2022. The value of these exports reached $243.200, up 54 times year-on-year.

Following China is the US, where 21.5 tons of natural honey were sent, marking a 3.5-fold increase compared to the first eight months of 2022. The value of these exports was $126.100, which is a 4.2-times year-on-year increase.

Additionally, 21.7 tons of honey worth $84,500 were sent to Azerbaijan, in contrast to the absence of exports to the country during the same period in 2022.

Kyrgyzstan also exported 21.1 tons of honey to Kuwait, up 2.9 times year-on-year. The exports were valued at $150,100, increasing 4.4 times compared to the corresponding months of 2022.

On the other hand, honey exports to the UAE experienced a slight decline, amounting to 20.1 tons, which is 9.5 percent lower compared to the previous year. The value of these exports was $59,000, which is a decline of 39 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

In total, Kyrgyzstan exported 223 tons of natural honey from January through August 2023, which is a 1.6-times year-on-year increase. The value of these exports reached $893,500, reflecting an increase of 1.4 times.
