BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 25. Passenger transportation in Kyrgyzstan reached 401.352 million people from January through September 2023, which is an increase of 36.3 million people, or 9.9 percent, compared to the same period the previous year, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that in September of this year, compared to September 2022, there was an increase of 4.8 million people, or 9.6 percent. Compared to the previous month, the figure rose by 25.3 percent.
The majority of passenger transportation (nearly 94 percent) was carried out by road transport. Buses transported 351.904 million people, while taxis carried 24.938 million people, and trolleybuses transported 23.368 million people.
The total passenger turnover for all types of transportation totaled 7.902 billion passenger kilometers from January through September 2023, which is 9.2 percent, or 663.3 million more than in the same period last year.
In September of this year, passenger turnover increased by 204.7 million passenger kilometers, or 18.3 percent year-on-year, and by 36.1 percent compared to the previous month.
