BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 14. Kyrgyzstan exported agricultural products worth $41.9 million to Uzbekistan from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan shows that the main exported products were live animals at $26.9 million, followed by vegetables at $2.9 million, cereals at $2.4 million, and dairy and dairy products at $2 million.
Simultaneously, fruits were exported at $1.5 million, processed fruit and vegetable products at $1.2 million, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at $2 million, and cotton fiber at $800,000.
During this period, Kyrgyzstan imported agricultural products from Russia valued at $45.9 million, including fruits at $22.4 million, vegetables at $11.4 million, prepared grain products at $2.7 million.
The import value of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages amounted to $2.8 million, tobacco to $1.1 million, and sugar and confectionery products at $500,000.
Overall, trade of agricultural products between the countries amounted to $87.8 million during the period under review.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $399.3 million from January through August 2023, constituting 4.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover. The trade turnover was 10 percent higher than in the same period of 2022 ($362.6 million).
