BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 28. Kyrgyzstan imported 14,883 tons of fresh and dried grapes from January through October 2023, which is a decline of 16 percent compared to the corresponding months in 2022 (17,635 tons), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the total value of these imports amounted to $8.020 million, reflecting a 17 percent increase compared to the same 10-month period in 2022 ($6.801 million).
During this reporting timespan, Kyrgyzstan imported the largest quantities of grapes from Uzbekistan, totaling 10,920 tons valued at $3.985 million. Additionally, 3,833 tons were imported from China for $3.910 million. Besides, 57 tons of grapes were imported from Kazakhstan, valued at $46,900.
Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover reached $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, which is a 24.9-percent increase compared to $9.845 billion in the same period of 2022.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $2.443 billion during the 10 months, marking a 29.6 percent increase compared to $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.854 billion during this period, up by 23.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
