BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 15. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan is going to undertake the implementation of more than 100 major business projects spanning across 11 sectors in the coming years, Minister Bakyt Torobaev said, Trend reports.
This announcement was made during a meeting of the Coordination Council of Development Institutions of Kyrgyzstan, according to the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
It was highlighted that, according to the data from the Fund for Social Partnership for Regional Development, there are 12 projects for trade and logistics centers, 11 projects for agricultural machinery, 8 projects in poultry farming, 20 educational and scientific projects, 6 projects in meat production, 7 projects in dairy production, 14 projects in fish farming, 3 projects in fruit cultivation, 3 projects in nut cultivation, 6 projects in leather and textile industries, and 12 projects in regional development. The implementation of these projects will require 24 billion soms ($268.126 million).
"Leaders of development institutions and commercial banks, prepared projects are presented to you for your consideration. It is now time to commence financing. Please submit your list within ten days. Projects with estimates up to $200,000 should be considered by yourselves, while all other projects require coordination with the Cabinet of Ministers," said Japarov.
Responsibility for carrying out the projects, providing comprehensive support to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, and bearing personal responsibility will fall upon the executive authorities, authorized representatives of the president in the regions, and the administrations of the cities of Bishkek and Osh.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the combined gross output of agriculture, forestry, and fishing in Kyrgyzstan reached 11.780 billion soms ($131.7 million) in January 2024, a 1.4-percent increase compared to January 2023.
