BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 22. In January 2024, Kyrgyzstan imported 2,013 tons of petroleum coke and bitumen, 2.8 times greater than the same month in 2023 (701.4 tons), Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, imports
totaled $502,800, up 3.1 times from January 2023 ($157,600).
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan imported petroleum coke and
bitumen from two different nations.
Specifically, 1,736 tons were imported from Russia, 2.8 times
higher than the previous year's January total. Imports totaled
$475,200, an increase of 3.8 times over the previous year.
Imports from Kazakhstan totaled 276.2 tons worth $27,700. The volume rose by 3.3 times compared to January of the previous year, while the value dropped by 18 percent.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase year-on-year. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
