BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 4. Kyrgyzstan Railways, a state enterprise, transported 247,000 passengers in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the company, there were 14,283 passengers on international and 232,717 passengers on domestic routes.
It was noted that last year, at the Belovodskoe and Bishkek wagon repair plants, 251 freight wagons and 42 passenger wagons were repaired. Additionally, over 150 locomotive repairs were conducted within the depot premises.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, passenger transportation by all modes of transport in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 574.708 million people in 2023, which is an increase of 9 percent compared to 2022.
The majority of passenger transportation (94 percent) was by road transport (buses, minibuses, and taxis), which is an increase of 9.7 percent compared to 2022.
