Kyrgyzstan discloses GDP growth for 5M2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 10. Kyrgyzstan's GDP reached approximately 444 billion soms ($5.102 billion) from January through May 2024, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the GDP growth rate reached 8.1 percent during the reporting period.

It was noted that industrial production in January–May 2024 amounted to 195 billion soms ($2.241 billion), up by 2.6 percent from January–May 2023.

Positive trends were also observed in several sectors: construction saw a 51.6 percent increase, wholesale and retail trade grew by 20.8 percent, and agriculture increased by 2.5 percent.

In addition, Kyrgyzstan's GDP amounted to approximately 342 billion soms ($3.87 billion) from January through April 2024, with a growth rate of 7.4 percent. The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) expects Kyrgyzstan's GDP to reach $14.8 billion in 2024.

Kyrgyzstan's GDP surpassed a historical high of 1.2 trillion soms ($13.4 billion) in 2023, with a growth rate of 6.2 percent.
