BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 15. Kyrgyzstan exported 682 passenger cars from January through April 2024, which is four times lower than the figures for the same period in 2023 (2,779 cars), Trend reports.
According to the country's National Statistical Committee, the value of imports amounted to $8.135 million, decreasing 2.8 times compared to $22.883 million in January-April 2023.
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan mainly exported vehicles to Russia – 630 cars worth a total of $5.954 million. Compared to the 1,374 cars sent to this country in the same period in 2023, deliveries decreased by more than half.
In total, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $5.171 billion from January through April 2024, which is a 27.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 ($4.051 billion).
Exports amounted to $760.6 million, which is an increase of 19.7 percent compared to the $635.678 million recorded in January–April 2023. Imports grew by 29.2 percent compared to $3.415 billion in the same period in 2023, reaching $4.411 billion from January through April 2024.
