Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received the Russian military delegation headed by Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov. The delegation is in Dushanbe on a three-day working visit, military and diplomatic sources told ITAR-TASS. The sources noted that the main theme of the meeting was the question of the terms and conditions of 201st Russian military base stay in Tajikistan.
The meeting, which lasted for two hours, was closed to the media. However, according to sources close to the negotiations, "the timing of agreement of Russian and Tajik projects on the further functioning of the base in this country" was discussed.
On the eve the Russian delegation held consultations with Prime Minister Akil Akilov and Foreign Minister Hamrahon Zarifi.
It is expected that Anatoly Antonov will give a press conference today.
