Tajik GDP exceeded 20.4 billion somoni ($4.5 billion) during the first eight months of the year, Avesta.Tj reported on Friday.

The economic growth amounted to 7.5 percent in January-August, compared to the similar period of 2011.

The retail trade turnover growth made up 18.9 percent, the volume of services grew by 14 percent, industrial growth amounted to 11.7 percent while the agricultural production increased by 10.2 percent.

The inflation in Tajikistan during the mentioned period hit 4.2 percent, that is less compared to 2011.

The inflation occurred because of the growth of prices on paid services, non-food goods and food.

The monetary stock of the country during the seven months of the year exceeded 3.8 billion somoni increasing by 14.2 percent compared to a similar period of 2011.
